Have a nice weekend

A GREAT DAY AT FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH-THURSDAY
Last night Anna Marie Edgemon did a fantastic job of sharing how God used her on many mission trips to Kenya and how FBC helped in a great way to further the Kingdom of God in this African country.  The Spirit of the Lord was there and a great blessing was received by the people in attendance.  Last night in the student ministry the new youth ministry band did a wonderful job in leading worship for the students. Next Wednesday (3/6) a New Life Journey class will begin called: “THE REAL GOD” and it will be taught by Rev. Kenneth Rhoades.
This morning the Parent’s Day Out began at 9:00 a. m.  This afternoon the Sixty Plus Ministry is leaving at 4:00 p. m. to go to Rockwall for eating out at Texas Roadhouse and then shopping in the mall.  All ages are welcome to attend and enjoy just good Christian fellowship.  A great reception was given by City National Bank this afternoon for Phyllis Loyd for being an employee at the bank for fifty years.  What a wonderful contribution and an accomplishment.
Tomorrow the Men’s Coffee Fellowship will be held in room 108 beginning at 8:30 a. m.
CALLING ALL DEACONS!  All active deacons are being invited to attend a new course for five weeks called: “DEACONS: PARTNERS IN MINISTRY AND GROWTH” by Jim Henry.  This course will be taught by Dr. Roy Edgemon and it begins at 4:45 p. m. in room 108.  We hope all the active deacons will be able to attend.
The FBC goal for the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering is $18,000.00.  This offering is used by the Southern Baptist Convention Home North American Mission Board to provide help and ministry in America.
This Sunday (3/3) Dr. Preben Vang will be here to preach in the morning and evening worship services.  His morning message for the 8:30 a. m. and 11:00 a. m. is: “Partying With Jesus: RSVP-ing to Jesus’ Banquet Invite” from Matthew 22:1-4.  In the evening worship service at 6:30 p. m. Dr. Vang will continue his sermon series: “Telling God’s Story”.
Have a great day in your neighborhood!   Fred W. Lewis
